Day 3 – It’s the mid-way point in this year’s Australian Jumping Championships and the lovely spring weather has stayed with us. The remainder of the competition will see the finals take place for the Australian champion combinations for the Senior, Young Rider, Junior and Children’s classes.
The first class of the day on the main Showjumping Arena at Willinga Park was the 2nd Round of the MRX Group Children’s Championship. With no penalties from Round 1 or 2 and with a time of 33.57, the win went to Harley McNaughton and GLENBROOKE ARCHIE BUNKER.
The second class on the main arena was the 2nd Round of the JPR Equestrian Australian Junior Championship. It was Tanner Robinson’s morning, taking out the win with MAGNUM MVNZ in 41.31 with no penalties and second with CRACKER in 42.65 with no penalties.
A field of 24 combinations took to the Main Showjumping Arena for the Yalambi Stud Young Horses 1.25m class. All placegetters went clear in both phases, but it was Deon Williams and CARONA B (35.93) for the win. In 2nd place was Sam Whale and KINGSLEA CENTROSE (38.42) and 3rd place was James Paterson-Robinson and CZUKO (38.65).
The Day 3 action continued at the Main Showjumping Arena with the Willinga Park Open 1.25m class. With no penalties, Charlie Eason and OAKS COOLANGATTA won the class in 37.63. Second place went to Tallara Cameron and COOLEY DOWN UNDER with no rails in 39.61. Third place was Jess Rice-Ward and DINERO with no penalties in 40.72.
One of the final classes on the Main Showjumping Arena was the Unicornium Young Horse 1.35m. All placegetters jumped clear, but it was Frida Lindgren and WONDAREEN COLLEEN who were fastest around the course in 34.17 to take out the win.
The final class of Day 3 on the Main Arena was the Pryde’s Easifeed Open 1.35m. Congratulations went to Lane Clarke and JAMES BUGATTI for their win with no penalties and in 32.94.
Over to the Yandoo Equestrian Services Arena 2 and Day 3 started with the Mortgage Express Small Junior Tour 1.10m class. Lily Short and HECANROCKME were fastest on course (53.78) and with no penalties and took out the win.
The second class of the day on Arena 2 was the Global Entries Online Small Adult Tour 1.10m class. The win went to Steffi Whittaker and FINCH FARM BOSS with zero penalties and a time of 59.71.
The amateurs finished off the day’s classes in Arena 2 in the Kallaroo Park Equestrian Centre Amateur 1.15m. In 54.99 seconds and with no rails, the win went to Haydie Bird and CONNOLLYS KARACHI. Congratulations!
